Anthropic, the startup behind the powerful Claude family of large language models (LLMs), has fired a major salvo at rival OpenAI with two new flagship offerings: a free iOS app and an enterprise-grade Team plan for AI collaboration.
These releases position Anthropic’s Claude as OpenAI’s main closed-source competitor in the booming AI market.
Free Claude iOS App for Multi-Device Access
The new Claude for iOS app allows users to seamlessly interact with the advanced language model across devices. It synchronizes conversation history and lets users upload photos directly from their iPhone’s camera for Claude to analyze and generate insights from.
This free iOS app provides a smooth multi-device experience for engaging with Claude’s AI capabilities for writing, analysis, Q&A, coding assistance and more.
Team Plan Brings AI Collaboration to the Enterprise
While the iOS app is consumer-focused, Anthropic’s newly launched Team plan squarely targets enterprise users wanting to collaborate with AI across teams. It includes administrator management tools and privileges not found in the individual Pro plan.
Most powerfully, the Team plan provides full access to all three versions of Anthropic’s cutting-edge Claude 3 model – Haiku for speed, Sonnet for a balance of speed and quality, and Opus for maximum depth. It also substantially increases the token context window to 200,000 for incredibly comprehensive analysis.

According to Anthropic co-founder and president Daniela Amodei, the app and Team plan herald “a new era” where “AI is not just a tool but a trusted partner that works alongside every professional, unlocking unprecedented levels of productivity, innovation, and job satisfaction.”
The Team plan is priced at $30 per user per month with a minimum of 5 users. Anthropic plans to add more collaboration features soon, including integration with third-party CRM systems.
Enterprise Use Cases Showcase Claude’s Potential
Anthropic is already seeing strong traction for its AI language model in the enterprise. The company highlighted two marquee customers:
Pfizer is using Claude to help identify potential cancer treatments faster by rapidly gathering, assessing, and validating relevant scientific data, improving research efficiency.
Bridgewater Associates has created an “AI-enabled Investment Analyst Assistant” that leverages Claude’s abilities to generate code, analyze data, create visuals, and have back-and-forth dialog.
As large language models continue to advance at a blistering pace, Anthropic’s new app and enterprise plan position Claude as a pioneering and versatile AI collaboration solution across industries.
