Google has rolled out some useful updates to its Bard AI chatbot, allowing it to respond in real-time as it generates answers. Users can now get a live preview of responses as they are created, according to a recent report by 9to5Google.
Previously, Bard only sent a reply when it was fully complete. But with the new real-time option enabled, you can watch as your answer is generated line-by-line. This brings Bard in line with Microsoft’s Bing Chat bot, which also offers live responses.

If you don’t like where the response is going, a new “Skip response” button lets you interrupt Bard mid-flow. This allows you to stop the answer and re-phrase your question or prompt an alternative response without waiting.
Other options allow further refinement of responses. You can toggle between more “casual” or “professional” tones. And if you want to double-check facts, just tap the Google logo to run a web search on key points.
Additional handy updates include the ability to see images shared in conversations. Bard can also now summarize more emails at once when connected to Gmail. And its comprehension of which emails you need most recently has improved.
Overall, the updates make conversing with Bard a more seamless, productive experience. The real-time responses and controls over tone/content give users more flexibility. And integration with web search and Gmail add useful context. As Google continues developing its AI chatbot, expect even more enhancements ahead.
