MediaTek has revamped its mid-range chip lineup, introducing the Dimensity 6000 and 7000 series processors. The Dimensity 7050 and 7020, positioned just above the budget tier, offer an octa-core CPU configuration (2x Cortex-A78 and 6x Cortex-A55), respectable Mali-G68 MC4 graphics, and a 6nm design. These chips also bring a third-generation APU, a 120Hz refresh rate, 4K HDR recording, and support for 200MP single cameras.
A pivotal release in this tier was the Dimensity 1050 in 2022, as it marked MediaTek’s first processor with mmWave 5G support.
