Japanese electronics giant Epson has set up a new regional sales hub, Epson Middle East (EME), headquartered in Dubai. This strategic move aims to expand Epson’s footprint substantially over the next 5 years across crucial growth markets – Africa, the Middle East, Caucasus, Central Asia, Moldova, Türkiye and Ukraine.
Former VP Neil Colquhoun has been appointed President of EME to spearhead rapid localized growth. Epson expects its sustainable technology solutions for printing, scanning and displays to see massive uptake in these regions.
Targeted Growth Across Key Domains
EME plans to aggressively grow revenues and market reach in its core business areas of printing, scanning and visual displays. Epson sees tremendous potential for its innovative offerings like business inkjet printers, ink tank printers, scanners and projectors.
The company reported sales growth exceeding 40% in the Middle East and Türkiye, almost 30% in Africa and around 10% in Central Asia and Caucasus in FY2022. It aims to capitalize on digitization demands in the region across sectors.
Sustainable Technology Adoption
Epson anticipates wider adoption of its eco-friendly Heat-Free printer models that consume less power and generate lower CO2 emissions v/s lasers. The company is also betting on demand growth for scanning and automation as organizations go paperless.
