If you happen to enjoy being reminded of events and moments from the past years, Memories on Google Photos is a great feature.
That being said, there may be things or memories from your past that you want to keep but don’t want to be reminded of. Nothing can ruin your mood like seeing a memory from your life that you weren’t expecting.
If you feel the same way, you can thankfully change the setting in Google Photos and here’s how to go about it.
How To Tweak Your Google Photos Memories Feature
Google Photos gives users the option to select people or animals that they do not want to be featured in memories, as well as dates.
It’s important to note that this tweak is only available on the Mobile (Android & iOS) version of the app only. The desktop version does not offer the same functionality.
- Open the Google Photos app and tap your profile picture at the top of the screen
- Go to Photos settings if you’re using an Android device or Google Photos settings if you have an iPhone
- Select Memories
- Select Hide people & pets
- If you want to avoid memories from certain dates, tap Hide dates
There you go! A quick and easy guide to changing your Memories on Google Photos.
Make Memories Work For You
Google Memories is a useful tool for recalling specific events or experiences. However, not all photos deserve to be included in your memory notifications.
Fortunately, you have some control over the memories shared by the app. You can block people and pets, as well as remove specific dates from your memories entirely.
Furthermore, you can customize the app’s notifications. Use these features to transform Google Photos Memories into a useful and enjoyable feature.
