A couple of months ago, WhatsApp introduced a feature that lets users react to messages using emojis. The feature is similar to the reaction feature available for Instagram and Facebook, where users can react to messages in personal or group chats with an emoji.
In order to react to a message, users need to long press the message, after which, a tile of random emojis appear for you to select. The feature is helpful since one can quickly reply or react to a message.
When you react to a message with an emoji, WhatsApp sends a notification of the reaction to the person you’re messaging.
