Thanks to a new update on WhatsApp, you can now text yourself on WhatsApp. There are a variety of useful ways to use this new feature, such as, taking notes, forwarding yourself a message, or sending yourself a link.
Here’s all you need to know about how to message yourself on WhatsApp.
How To Go About It
Steps to text yourself on WhatsApp are similar to starting any other chat on the app. To start a chat with yourself, follow these steps:
- Open WhatsApp on your main Chats tab.
- Tap the new chat icon on the bottom right of the screen.
- At the top of the list of contacts, you will see your name with the text Message yourself under it. Select your profile to open a new chat.
- A chat window will open just like a regular chat. Here you can type and send messages to yourself.
Like any other chat on WhatsApp, messages to yourself are end-to-end encrypted. You can send yourself a message just like you would in any other chat.
When you want to forward yourself a message, share a picture, or share a link, your profile will pop up in the list of contacts like any other chat. Depending on how often you use this feature, your profile will either appear in the Frequently contacted or Recent chats list.
Next to your name, you will also see You in brackets. This, along with the Message yourself text in the About Section, will make it easier to spot your profile.
Messaging Yourself On WhatsApp Is Easy
Messaging yourself on WhatsApp only takes a few steps and works just like other chats. Once you have started a chat with yourself, you can use the window for easy note-taking and other useful shortcuts.
