It looks like Nokia is on a launch binge. Following the launch of the flagship Nokia X30 5G earlier this month, HMD Global has now released three budget and mid-range phones.
The three phones include the:
- Nokia G22
- Nokia C32
- Nokia C22
The C series is Nokia’s budget friendly lineup of smartphones while the G series is their lower mid-range lineup that promises to deliver the promise of a reliable, up-to-date smartphone.
This launch coincidentally comes a day after Nokia revealed their new logo to remind us that they no longer make smartphones.
The new offerings by Nokia are said to have a massive three-day battery life.
Nokia G22
Nokia claims that the G22 is the first Nokia smartphone purposefully designed with “repairability at its core”. Nokia has partnered with iFixit, a global repair community, to make repairing easier.
According to Nokia, you can easily access repair guides and low-cost parts to replace a damaged display, bent charging port, or flat battery on the Nokia G22.
The new G-series has a 100% recycled plastic back, OZO Playback for improved bass and clarity, two years of AndroidTM OS upgrades, three years of monthly security updates, and an extended three-year warranty at no extra cost.
Apart from being easily reparable, the Nokia G22 features a 6.5-inch HD+ resolution display (a bummer) with 90Hz refresh rate support and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The phone measures 8.5mm in thickness and weighs 196 grams. It is also dust and splash resistant.
Under the hood, the G22 is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset and runs on stock Android 12 out of the box. It is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options to choose from.
Camera wise, the Nokia G22 has a 50MP main camera, 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There is an 8MP selfie camera upfront. The Nokia G22 also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
The Nokia G22 comes equipped with a 5,050mAh battery that supports 20W charging speeds.
Nokia C22 & C32
These two budget offerings from Nokia share a couple of specs. Both the Nokia C22 and C32 are powered by the Unisoc SC9863A processor and run on Android 13 Go Edition.
The C22 is paired with 2GB/3GB RAM and 64GB of storage while the C32 is being offered with 3GB/4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options to choose from.
The Nokia C22 has a 13-megapixel main camera and a 2MP macro camera. Meanwhile, the C32 has a 50MP main camera, the first for a Nokia C-series phone alongside a 2MP macro camera.
Both phones also have the same 8MP selfie camera. The rear camera of both phones can record in 1080p at 30FPS.
Both phones support Bluetooth 5.2 and a fingerprint reader on the side. They also come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging speeds.
