After its debut on the Galaxy S24, Samsung has officially confirmed that its latest software update, One UI 6.1, is rolling out to select Galaxy devices starting today, March 28th. This highly anticipated update brings a host of exciting new features, and here’s what you need to know.
Announced back in February, One UI 6.1 introduces Samsung’s cutting-edge AI capabilities to its 2023 Galaxy lineup. Among the supported devices, the Galaxy S23 series is expected to be the first to receive the update.
Samsung had previously stated that the rollout would commence in “late March,” aligning with today’s launch.
True to its word and a notification sent earlier this week, Samsung has confirmed that the global rollout of One UI 6.1 begins on Thursday, March 28th. The update will gradually make its way to compatible Galaxy devices worldwide.

While smartphone users will be the first to experience the new features, Samsung’s tablet lineup isn’t far behind. The update for Galaxy tablets is scheduled to arrive later this week, although some regions may have to wait until early next week for the rollout to reach them.

Future Updates
While the initial rollout is limited to Samsung’s latest flagship devices, the company has hinted that the AI features introduced in OneUI 6.1 might eventually make their way to the Galaxy S22 series.
However, details regarding the expansion of OneUI 6.1 to older Galaxy devices remain unclear, and it’s possible that they may not receive the AI capabilities.
