OPPO has unveiled the OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro, the latest additions to its popular Reno series, in the Chinese market. These new smartphones bring notable upgrades over their predecessors, the Reno11 lineup.
Boasting quad-curved displays, a first for OPPO devices, the Reno12 series features a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Reno12 and Reno12 Pro run on Android 14 with ColorOS 14 on top, offering an enhanced user experience. They also come with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
Under the hood, the Reno12 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition chipset, while the higher-end Reno12 Pro is equipped with the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition SoC.
Both smartphones are currently available for pre-order in China, with their official market release scheduled for later this month.
OPPO Reno12, OPPO Reno12 Pro: Price and Availability
The vanilla OPPO Reno12 starts at CNY 2,699 (approximately KES 50,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 256GB configurations are both priced at CNY 2,999 (around KES 54,000), while the top-end 16GB + 512GB model is listed at CNY 3,199 (roughly KES 58,000).
On the other hand, the OPPO Reno12 Pro starts at CNY 3,399 (approximately KES 62,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 16GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB options are priced at CNY 3,699 (around KES 68,000) and CNY 3,999 (roughly KES 73,000), respectively.
The OPPO Reno12 is offered in Ebony Black, Millennium Silver, and Soft Peach color options, while the Reno12 Pro comes in Champagne Gold, Ebony Black, and Silver Magic Purple shades.
Both smartphones are currently available for pre-orders in China through the official OPPO website and other online retailers. Their official sale in the country is scheduled to begin on May 31st.

The OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro feature 6.7-inch Full HD+ 1.5K (2,772 x 1,240 pixels) curved OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The displays also peak out at 1,200 nits and feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Both phones are IP65-rated for dust and splash resistance and feature in-display fingerprint sensors.
Performance and Software
The OPPO Reno12 is powered by the 4nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC, while the Pro model is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset.
Both phones come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. They run on Android 14-based ColorOS 14.
Cameras
In terms of optics, the OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with up to 20x digital zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter.
The Reno12 is equipped with a Sony LYT-600 primary sensor, while the Reno12 Pro has a Sony IMX890 main sensor. Both devices also feature a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.
Battery and Charging
The OPPO Reno12 series is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. Connectivity options include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and USB Type-C.
