Safaricom has significantly increased speeds for its 5G for Business customers. This upgrade aims to provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with faster, reliable connectivity to support their digital needs.
These include real-time collaboration, seamless online transactions, and efficient remote operations.
The announcement was made during the ‘Grow with Safaricom Business’ event in Western Kenya. This platform focuses on helping SMEs scale operations using technology.
What’s New with Safaricom 5G for Business?
SMEs using Safaricom’s 5G for Business can now access speeds up to five times faster than before. Here’s how the new speeds compare to the old ones:
These enhancements aim to deliver enterprise-grade internet performance without inflating costs.
Why the Change?
Safaricom’s CEO Peter Ndegwa emphasized the benefits of the improved service. “The new 5G for Business will empower SMEs to enhance productivity, improve customer interactions, and scale operations efficiently, all while managing their costs,” he said.
The upgrade comes shortly after Safaricom increased speeds for its fibre-to-home products. This move is likely a response to the growing popularity of Starlink in Kenya, pushing Safaricom to offer more competitive solutions.
Special Offer for Early Adopters
Businesses signing up for 5G for Business before 31 December 2024 will receive a 25% discount on all 5G plans. This promotion is expected to attract SMEs looking for cost-effective ways to improve their digital infrastructure.
With these new speeds, Safaricom’s 5G for Business aims to provide SMEs with the tools needed to thrive in an increasingly connected marketplace.
