5G has been the talk of town and Safaricom has been at the forefront of making it available to the masses. The giant Telco has now officially announced the availability of 5G ready mobile data packages.
These packages have been available for a while now but Safaricom did not explicitly informed customers about them.
Let’s have a look at what the Safaricom 5G ready bundles have to offer.
Prices & Availability
At the time of writing this article, Safaricom’s 5G network is available in 11 counties including, Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Siaya, Vihiga, Kajiado, Kiambu, Kakamega, Nakuru, Machakos and Kisii.
Before purchasing the Safaricom 5G ready bundles, you need to make sure you are located in any of the 11 counties above and that you have a smartphone that supports 5G.
As for the pricing, here are the various packages and their prices.

To access the bundles, dial *444# and choose your desired 5G bundle package. Safaricom did point out that the bundles will also be available in the mySafaricom app soon.
Safaricom also offers 5G plans for Homes and Businesses where you’ll have to get a 5G ready router for Ksh 25,000 and also pay a monthly fee.

alidity Of The Safaricom 5G Ready Bundles
These bundles will last for 30 days and there’s no option to carry over any unused bundles to the following month. These means that you will have to exhaust your 5G bundles before the 30 days are over.
Its also important to note that you will be able to use the 5G bundles even when you are in an area that doesn’t have 5G coverage.
5G Experience Centers
If you’d like to have a taste of 5G, Safaricom has you covered. The Telco in partnership with Huawei recently launched three 5G experiential centers across Nairobi.
The three centers are located in Safaricom’s Village Market, The Hub and Buruburu Shops. Users will get to experience the superfast speeds and devices that come with 5G connectivity.
