Samsung Electronics has maintained its position as the number one global TV manufacturer for the 18th consecutive year. According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung captured 30.1% of the global TV market in 2023.
The company’s continued dominance is driven by its leadership in premium, large-screen TV categories.
Since launching its QLED lineup in 2017, Samsung has sold over 40 million QLED TVs worldwide. In 2023, QLED TV sales reached 8.31 million units.
The stellar picture and sound quality of Samsung’s Neo QLED TVs, first released locally in Kenya in 2022, have resonated with consumers.

Premium Market Share
Samsung secured 60.5% of the global market share for TVs priced at $2,500 (KES 365,000) and above. The company also led among extra-large TVs, capturing 33.9% of the 75-inch and larger TV segment. Samsung’s 98-inch models drove a 30.4% share among 90-inch and larger TVs.

In 2023, Samsung sold 1.01 million OLED TV units worldwide, for a 22.7% market share. With an expanded 2024 OLED lineup, Samsung anticipates substantial gains in the OLED space.
