The first quarter of 2024 has brought a wave of exciting tech product announcements, from the unique Nothing Phone 2A to the AI-powered Galaxy S24 Series.
However, my personal favorite from this period is the Samsung Music Frame (HW-LS60D) – a wireless speaker that doubles as a home décor piece and a high-quality sound system.
Samsung Music Frame: A Fusion of Art and Technology
As someone with a profound appreciation for both technology and art, I often find myself seeking products that harmoniously combine the two. Samsung’s Music Frame wireless speaker, unveiled at this year’s CES, is a masterful fusion of these elements.
Reminiscent of Samsung’s pioneering Frame TV, introduced in 2017, the Samsung Music Frame marries a picture frame with a high-quality speaker system.
Unlike its television counterpart, the Music Frame does not feature a screen. Instead, it houses printed photos or artwork that you can manually swap out, maintaining the illusion of a traditional picture frame while concealing its true purpose as a sophisticated audio device.
Beneath its aesthetic exterior lies a powerful audio setup, comprising two woofers, two tweeters, and two mid-range drivers. This speaker array is capable of delivering immersive Dolby Atmos audio, further enhanced by Samsung’s SpaceFit technology, which calibrates the sound to the unique acoustics of your room.
Samsung boasts that the Music Frame offers a “wide radial sound range,” ensuring exceptional audio quality no matter where you’re seated in relation to the device.

The Music Frame can function as a standalone Bluetooth or Wi-Fi speaker or seamlessly integrate into a home theater setup alongside a Samsung TV or soundbar.
You can even pair two Music Frames on either side of a Frame TV for a stereo experience or employ them as rear speakers or a subwoofer.
Designed for versatile placement, the Music Frame is ready for wall mounting or can be placed on a table with its built-in stand. Samsung has also incorporated a full IoT hub into the Music Frame, enabling voice control through your preferred virtual assistant for music playback and other functions.
Building on a Successful Concept
While the concept of combining technology and art is not entirely new – Samsung’s Frame TV has garnered immense success by blending seamlessly into home decor with customizable bezels, a matte screen, and a vast collection of renowned artwork displayed during idle periods – the Music Frame takes this philosophy to new heights in the audio realm.
Pricing and Availability
Priced at $400 (approximately KES 52,000), the Samsung Music Frame is available for pre-order through Samsung, Best Buy, and other retail platforms.
Pre-orders are open until April 11, with shipping expected to commence on April 12. Samsung is offering a $50 (KES 6,525) Samsung Credit, while Best Buy is providing a promotional $100 (KES 13,050) gift card for subsequent purchases.
While the availability of the Music Frame in Kenya is currently uncertain, it would be a logical move for Samsung to introduce it locally, considering the successful reception of the Frame TV in the Kenyan market.
