Telegram’s latest update brings a couple of handy tools to the messaging application
Telegram has always been ahead of the pack when it comes to rolling out new and interesting messaging features.
Well, Telegram decided to end the year 2022 in style with it’s latest update. In it’s latest update, the Messaging platform has gotten a ton of interesting tools including spoiler effects for media, reduced storage space, and so much more.
Here are five new features we thought you should know about from the update.
1. Ability To Cover Images and Other Media With A Spoiler Filter.
This is perhaps our best addition to Telegram. Telegram now lets you cover photos or videos from immediate sight until it’s clicked on by your friends or family. Twitter also has a somewhat similar feature.
Whether you’re sharing gifts or trying to keep a lid on Marvel spoilers, this new feature is a useful tool.
2. New Storage Saver Setting
Telegram also added a new auto-remove option that lets you take control of how much storage the app takes on your device. With this feature you can auto-delete cached media from private chats, group chats, and even channels, all while setting exceptions for those conversations you really care about.
Telegram also includes a new pie chart for seeing what’s being used at any time.
Telegram already made it easy to control how much of your device’s storage it’s using and this new feature improves on that.

3. Updated Drawing and Text Tools
The app’s already powerful media editor has been fully redesigned. Drawing tools dynamically change width based on drawing speed and automatically smooth your lines.
There is a new blur tool to remove sensitive data (or photobombers:-)) and five high-precision ways to choose colors, including the Eyedropper tool.
When adding text to photos or videos, you can now change its size, font, and background.
Adding custom animated emoji to text on images is available for all users, even if they don’t have a Telegram Premium subscription.
4. Ability To Set Profile Pictures for Your Contacts
When editing your contacts, you can now choose a picture for them without them knowing. This feature brings Telegram in line with how most number-based messaging services work, providing unlimited customizability.
You also have the option to suggest profile photos for other users, in case you managed to snap a great family photo during the holidays.
Still on profile pictures, you now also have the ability to only allow certain users to see your profile photos by setting a public picture for everyone else.
5. Ability To Hide Group Members
Admins managing a group with more than 100 members can now choose to hide the member list. This feature is set to help group admins protect their group members from unwanted spam messages.
Tools like the aggressive anti-spam setting also help chat admins keep large groups clean and spam free. If you want to have a look at all the features Telegram’s latest update brings, head over to the apps official blog page.
To take advantage of all these new features, you need to have the latest version of the app installed.
