Both the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 7 Ultra made their debut at Samsung’s recent Galaxy Unpacked event, sharing the stage with an array of other exciting product launches.

The Exynos W1000
At the heart of these new smartwatches lies the new 3nm Exynos W1000 processor. This chip features a unique five-core design, balancing performance and efficiency.
According to Samsung, this new processor can launch key apps up to 2.7 times faster than its predecessor, the 5nm Exynos W930. Additionally, both the Watch 7 and Watch Ultra boast 32GB of integrated storage, doubling the capacity of the previous Galaxy Watch 6 series.
Advanced Health Monitoring
The Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra also introduce an upgraded BioActive Sensor, setting a new standard for health monitoring in wearables.
This advanced sensor combines electrical heart signal monitoring, blood pressure tracking, bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), and blood oxygen (SpO2) measurement.

WearOS 5
Another significant upgrade comes in the form of software. The Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra are the first smartwatches to hit the market with WearOS 5, the latest version of Google’s operating system for wearables.
While Samsung has been somewhat reserved with details, it’s known that WearOS 5 brings improvements in battery life and enhanced watch faces. Samsung has also added its own One UI 6 Watch user interface, further enhancing the user experience.
Enhanced Features and Compatibility
Beyond these major upgrades, the new Galaxy watches offer additional features to elevate their performance. Both models include dual-band GPS for improved location accuracy.
Furthermore, they are designed to work seamlessly with the Galaxy Ring, Samsung’s smart ring. When paired, the two devices provide more accurate health data, and the smart ring’s battery life can be extended by up to 30% due to reduced measurement requirements.
Availability and Pricing
The Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra are now available for pre-order, with official sales beginning on July 24. The Galaxy Watch 7 starts at KES 33,700, while the more premium Galaxy Watch Ultra is priced from KES 73,300.
