Xiaomi has finally announced it’s Android skin, MIUI 14. This announcement was made alongside the the launch of the company’s flagship Xiaomi 13 series on Sunday.
The update arrives in a small size and is focused on system space optimization and faster operations. According to Xiaomi. MIUI 14 cuts unremovable system applications down to eight.
This takes up 1.5GB less system space. The new MIUI Skin also reduces system memory consumption and introduces optimizations for third-party apps to make them run faster and smoother.
Visually, MIUI 14 brings minor visual changes. Users will now be able to choose between four different icon sizes and add interactive avatars to make the home screen more interesting.
MIUI 14 also offers new widgets, customizable folders, and other design tweaks to the system.
The privacy of user data has also been improved, with Xiaomi claiming that all operations will be performed locally on the device and no data is stored in the cloud.
Xiaomi’s AI assistant has also been improved. The AI assistant now has a new recommendation function that learns the user habits and actively provides shortcuts to payment and transportation codes in advance, specifically catering to Chinese users.
It also offers multi-functional reminders for scheduling, smart home, travel, and more.
MIUI 14 Update Timeline And Supported Devices
The latest MIUI 14 update will start rolling out to the first batch of supported devices in February 2023. This schedule applies to Xiaomi devices in China, so you’ll have to wait for a global release roster to know when to expect the new software on your Xiaomi phones.

Xiaomi is yet to reveal the update plan for the Poco devices. Also, the company hasn’t announced the global rollout of the MIUI 14 yet. We can expect an official announcement soon.
