Samsung’s Exynos processors have in the last couple of years fallen short when compared to their rival Qualcomm, Apple and even MediaTek processors. However, recent reports indicate that this might change with their upcoming Exynos 2400. The new Exynos processor is said to come with a deca-core configuration, aiming to establish itself as a dominant player in the chip industry.

Packaging Options: Weighing the Choices

Initially, rumors suggested that the Exynos 2400 would be produced using the Fo-WLP packaging method, known for its thinness and energy efficiency. However, the latest information indicates that Samsung might opt for the I-Cube process, a heterogeneous integration technology that enables multiple logic dies and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) dies to operate as a single chip in one package.

Aiming for Stellar Performance

Previous benchmark tests indicated that the Exynos 2400 achieved performance scores comparable to Apple’s M2 chip, which would be a significant achievement. With a history of mixed reputation, Samsung’s Exynos chips need to showcase improved power and energy efficiency to compete with the likes of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, MediaTek Dimensity 9400, and A17 Bionic.

Speculations on the Exynos 2400 Configuration

Samsung Exynos 2400

Earlier rumors suggested that the 2400 could consist of a high-performance Cortex-X4 CPU core, two Cortex-A720 Performance cores at high clock speeds, three more Cortex-A720 Performance cores at lower clock speeds, and four Cortex-A520 Efficiency cores. However, these specifications remain unconfirmed, and we eagerly await the official announcement of the final specifications.

Conclusion: A New Era for Exynos

Samsung’s new Exynos chipset might represent a major step forward for the company. By aiming to deliver a more powerful and energy-efficient chipset, Samsung is determined to overcome past challenges and make its mark in the competitive chip industry. All eyes are now on the official release of the Exynos 2400, as Samsung strives to unveil a bulked-up Exynos chipset that can compete with the best in the market.
