In addition to the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, Xiaomi yesterday announced the new Redmi K60 Ultra smartphone in China. This device marks the final addition to the Redmi K60 series and boasts top-of-the-line specifications, including a 6.67-inch OLED display, Dimensity 9200+ SoC, up to 24GB of RAM, and more.

Redmi K60 Ultra: Specs and Features

The Redmi K60 Ultra (or Extreme Edition in China) features a 6.67-inch 1.5K CSOT C7 12-bit POLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, and 2,600 nits of peak brightness with 2,880 Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM). Additionally, the panel is Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ certified and incorporates a dedicated display chip called Pixelworks X7. The smartphone boasts a slim profile, measuring only 8.49mm in thickness and weighing a mere 209 grams.

Redmi K60 Ultra

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, paired with the Immortalis G715 MC11 GPU. The device offers generous memory options, with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage in the highest-end variant. To ensure optimal thermal performance, the device is also equipped with a 5,000 mm-square vapor chamber.

Cameras

In the camera department, the device boasts a triple camera system comprising a 50MP Sony IMX 800 main sensor (same as the Mix Fold 3) with OIS support, along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, there’s a 16MP center punch-hole selfie shooter.

Redmi K60 Ultra

Under the hood, the Redmi K60 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery that ensures all-day usage. And when it’s time to recharge, the proprietary 120W fast charger, compatible with PD 2.0 and PD 3.0 charging, comes to the rescue. Connectivity options include 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 6. The device also features an X-axis linear motor, dual stereo speakers, and an IR Blaster. Moreover, the Redmi K60 Ultra is IP68 water and dust resistant and runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box.

Price and Availability

The Redmi K60 Extreme Edition will be priced starting from CNY 2,599 (~Rs 29,900) for the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The top-end variant with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage will retail for CNY 3,599 (~Rs 41,200). Please refer to the different configurations of the device listed below:

  • 12GB+256GB: CNY 2,599 (~Ksh 51,599)
  • 16GB+256GB: CNY 2,799 (~Ksh 55,569)
  • 16GB+512GB: CNY 2,999 (~Ksh 59,540)
  • 16GB+1TB: CNY 3,299 (~Ksh 65,496)
  • 24GB+1TB: CNY 3,599 (~Ksh 71,452)

The phone will be available in ink feather, shadow green, and clear snow color options. Currently, the device is exclusively available in China and is scheduled to go on sale from August 22. There is no official announcement regarding its global launch at this time. Stay tuned for further updates.
