WhatsApp Could Soon Let You Know If Your Calls Are Being Ignored

WhatsApp will soon let you know if someone missed your call because they’re out of network range or if they simply just ignored it. That’s assuming they don’t call you back, of course.

The instant messaging platform seems ready to roll out a feature that will let you know if you’ve missed any voice or video calls when your device has ‘Do Not Disturb’ (DND) enabled.

Some WhatsApp beta version 2.22.24.7 users already have the feature.

A report by Android Police indicates that WhatsApp users on DND mode will see a tagline under the missed call history list indicating that a call was ‘Silenced by Do Not Disturb’.

WhatsApp will also place a note in the person’s chat thread to remind them that an incoming call was silenced.

At this point, users can either call back or use an additional feature from the messaging platform which allows them to share a screenshot of the alert with the caller to let them know their phone was on DND mode and that they were not intentionally ignoring their call.

Personally, I tend to avoid calls unless they come from family members or close friends and even then, they’d need to be justified for me to take them.

But I’d appreciate knowing if I ignored an important call because I turned on Do Not Disturb or if I simply ignored it because I’m a bad person (and let’s face it: we all get to be bad people sometimes 🙂

Link Primary WhatsApp To Two 0ther Mobile Devices

That’s not all the messaging app is working on. Earlier this year, WhatsApp gave users the ability to link up a primary account with four other devices, but these were not other smartphones.

The platform is testing a feature on WhatsApp beta that lets users hook a primary account to two other mobile phones. Users can view old chats with contacts on the secondary device once it’s linked, making it easier to switch between primary devices.
